
Those of us working with individuals with disabilities are familiar with the concept of “leveling the playing field” for our clients. Advances in Assistive Technology and requirements such as those found in the ADA and Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act as amended, can move us very close to the level playing field. This is not enough. There is a promise inherent in WIOA that requires us to develop pathways that result in careers in high demand occupations with commensurate wages in competitive, integrated settings.
